It’s Friday! Friday! Must come down on Friday! Whether you’re sitting in the front seat or sitting in the back seat with your friends this weekend, we’ve got some great news from San Diego Comic-Con 2022 to share with you today, including announcements from Dude Vader, Con’s Favorite, As Well As The Executive Story Editor Behind Netflix’s Recent Announcement dragon age animated series. It’s packed Under the tents people today.
Here’s a look at what you might have missed:
- Comic book creator Jeff Pina shared a work in progress of his raunchy Dark Phoenix Marvel Variant comic book cover. She will burn her table in Small Press, #Q-06.
- Christopher Canole, better known to SDCC attendees as “Dude Vader”, confirmed via Twitter as Doug Marcaida of the History Channel Forged in fire weapons expert, will be a special guest on his SDCC panel, “Star Wars Samurai Universe.” Keep an eye out for our upcoming panels for the date, time and location.
- Did you miss all the crochet news from Comic-Con? We certainly did, which is why we were thrilled to see podcaster/teacher Morgan le Slay’s tweet looking for more inspiration for his critters.
- Actress, writer and now comic book creator Hannah Rose May will be at the SDCC this year to promote his new comic, Thieves Gallery, from Image Comics. Check out our upcoming posts on Signs and Autographs (respectively) for any sign and signing information she announces.
- Did you really go to San Diego Comic-Con if you didn’t stop by the Symbiote Studios booth to play rock-paper-scissors with Catnip Bravo? This year, you’ll find some nifty exclusives, which they’ll announce next week. As always, we’ll also find plenty of free pins and merchandise when we stop by booth #3249.
- Archie Cartoonist and comic book writer Dan Parent gonna be busy at SDCC this year, as it looks like he has plans both at the convention and with the Comic-Con Museum.
- Marvel Artist Peter V. Nguyen showed off his latest Magik sticker to his Twitter followers. Will we see him at the SDCC this year? We’ll have to go through Artists Alley Table #HH-20 to find out.
- Independent comic book rating service CGC Comics will be organize a private signature (shh!) with DC artists Daniel Sampere and Bruno Redondo at SDCC this year. Each artist will also have Remarks which you can purchase at Table #4315. The deadline for submission is July 5, 2022.
- Story editor Mellow Brown, whose credits include American Gods, Blade Runner: Origins, and “a great Blockbuster anime series from Netflix that’s currently in full production overseas” (which we just found out today be dragon age), tweeted that he won’t be at the SDCC this year due to scheduling conflicts (“filming”).
- Last, but certainly not least for today, the indie bookstore Mysterious Galaxy advertised via their website that they will be back at the SDCC this year. They will be holding author signings at booth #1119 and in the autograph area during the convention, so stay tuned for more details as they become available.
