Tier IV data center will have huge impact on SMBs and government

Galaxy Backbone, Nigeria’s network communications infrastructure and data hosting platform for public and private sector organizations, says the Tier IV data center, which is about to launch, will greatly benefit to Nigerian Small and Medium Enterprises, Business and Government.

The Managing Director/CEO of Galaxy Backbone, Prof. Muhammad Abubakar, recently spoke at an exhibition and exhibition on “Ensuring Efficient Digital Infrastructure in Nigeria” organized by the Lagos Chamber of Commerce .

He said: “Galaxy Backbone, as you know, is the digital infrastructure and shared services platform for public and private organizations. We are playing an active role in Nigeria’s digital transformation journey, championed by the Honorable Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Professor Isa Ali Ibrahim Pantami.

“Our world-class Tier III data center and soon to be Tier IV data center for cloud and disaster recovery purposes is available to everyone and later today we’ll be diving deep into its enormous potential for Nigerian small and medium enterprises, businesses and government.”

The Managing Director, represented by Dauda Oyeleye, Head of Group Business Development, went further saying that the amount of data generated by public and private organizations and individuals has created new opportunities and experiences that need to be well documented and explored.

“In these two years, the world and even our nation, Nigeria, have had extraordinary times. The digital world has accelerated in 2020 during the pandemic so today we have a lot of transactions reaching billions of dollars that start and end on different digital platforms and in this way a lot of data is generated . This data should be stored safely somewhere and also backed up to ensure and prevent unforeseen circumstances. Organizations must continue to design innovative ways to store and back up their data to ensure business continuity. ” He stated.

The DG expressed the agency’s readiness and readiness to work with the Chamber in Rapid Commerce and Industry in the country.
