If you are planning to buy the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra, it may be worth making a decision as soon as you pre-order it, as the phone may be out of stock.
This is according to the South Korean leaker Dohyun Kim, who tweeted that buyers could wait up to three months for their phones to be delivered. That’s because apparently Samsung expects the S22 Ultra to be in huge demand, massively outselling the company’s initial handset offering.
You might be skeptical that such a high-end phone would prove desirable, but consider that it might appeal to fans of the Ultra line and Note line if the rumors surrounding its Note-like design are accurate, and that’s a lot of people.
That said, Kim doesn’t seem certain the supply issues will be as bad as their tweet suggested, noting that delivery will only take three months “if bad.”
Even though the lead time is not that long, some delay is probably likely for some buyers if Kim’s information is correct. Although they don’t have much of a track record yet, we’d take that with a pinch of salt anyway.

Opinion: Stock-outs are likely
Given the current shortage of chipsets – a situation that may have contributed to the cancellation of the Samsung Galaxy Note 21 and the delay of the Samsung Galaxy S21 FE – it’s entirely possible that Samsung wasn’t able to to build as many units of the Galaxy S22 line as it would like, and that continued supply could be hampered.
So, supply shortages for any or all of the models in the lineup have always been a distinct possibility, especially as the Samsung Galaxy S22 lineup is likely to include 2022’s hottest Android phones.
Whether the Galaxy S22 Ultra in particular will struggle largely depends on how many units Samsung has built, and we can’t really comment on that beyond what the source above has said.
But the bottom line is that if you’re looking for a phone in the range, it’s probably worth placing your order quickly once you can, or resigning yourself to a potentially very long wait.
