The beloved Guardians of the Galaxy character we almost saw in Loki

During an interview with The Direct, “Loki” director Kate Herron discussed concept art for the series that apparently showed Rocket Raccoon standing in the TVA processing chains with Loki (Tom Hiddleston). According to Herron, however, the character wasn’t “specifically” Rocket Raccoon, although the concept version of the character certainly looks a lot like him.

“That scene, it wasn’t specifically Rocket,” Herron said. “I think the illustrators caught it as a fun idea because sometimes they come up with stuff and then the studio will be like, ‘Yeah or no.’ I think it never got to the point, unfortunately, because of COVID.”

Herron expanded on that last point, pointing out that the original plan for the “Loki” treatment chain scene was to have a plethora of characters appear in it, but due to safety precautions due to the coronavirus pandemic, they didn’t. haven’t been able to find a way to do it safely. However, Herron thought the finished product with a much emptier VAT line was much funnier anyway. Still, there’s no doubt that fans would probably have been thrilled to see Rocket, or at least a variant or look-alike of the character, appear on the show.
