New updates are added at the bottom of this story…….
The original story (published June 02, 2022) follows:
The Samsung Galaxy S22 line arrived in February this year. The device family consists of the Samsung Galaxy S22, Galaxy S22 Plus, and Galaxy S22 Ultra.
As expected, these flagship phones incorporate the latest technologies and developments from Samsung Mobile. However, they have not been without problems since their release.
Currently, some Samsung Galaxy S22 series users are encountering an annoying “slow charging speed” issue. However, there are workarounds for this.
Samsung Galaxy S22 series slow charging for some users
According to several reports, Galaxy S22 series users are experiencing excessive battery charging times.
In some cases, fully charging the S22 Plus takes up to 3 hours, even with an official Samsung 45W charger.
Galaxy S22+ slow charging speed
I got myself an S22+ last week but couldn’t find the wait charging speed.
Using a 45W Samsung charger, it takes about 3 hours for a full charge.
As I am typing this I have tested the current charging speed by keeping the phone in power off mode. In 10 minutes it charged from 40% to 46%.
What is the experience of others, seems much worse when articles online suggest nearly an hour for a full charge.

The issue seems to affect all models in the Galaxy S22 lineup. There are similar reports for the Galaxy S22 Plus (very similar to the vanilla S22) and the S22 Ultra (which supports higher charging power).
Samsung S22 Ultra charging speed is way slower than it says
I have a 45W charging brick and when I plug it in it says “Super fast charge” and then gives me an apparent time it will take for it to fully charge I did some math and it tells me it’s charging at about 2% per minute, which would be crazy.
Now the problem is, that’s actually not the truth. It’s much slower. In 10 minutes, it increases by 4%. I used an app and it says it only charges at around 4 watts?
