The Samsung Galaxy Note is buried
The cancellation of the Galaxy Note series was necessary, however, given how similar the flagship Note and S flagship devices were becoming. In fact, in 2020, the Galaxy Note 20 Ultra was largely similar to the Galaxy S20 Ultra except for a different shape, S Pen stylus, and less capable cameras. It made sense for Samsung to merge the two and make it into a super flagship. It finally happened in the Galaxy S22 Ultra and the sales numbers proved it.
In Counterpoint Research’s list of top 10 best-selling smartphones, the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra topped the charts for Android phones, beating entry-level Galaxy A-series devices and only being beaten by all four iPhone models.
