Samsung Galaxy M53 for review

The Samsung Galaxy M53 is the latest smartphone to land in our offices for a full test. Our unit is blue in color, but there are two other options – green and brown.

The Galaxy M53 sports a 6.7-inch FullHD+ 120Hz Super AMOLED+ display with a punch-hole in the center for the 32MP selfie camera capable of recording 4K@30FPS video. Typically you’d expect an AMOLED panel to have a fingerprint reader underneath, but that’s not the case here as it’s integrated into the power button on the right frame of the M53.

To the rear we have a square-shaped camera island housing 108MP primary, 8MP ultrawide, 2MP macro and 2MP depth units. The single LED flash is placed below the cameras.

Samsung Galaxy M53

The Galaxy M53 is powered by the Dimensity 900 SoC, runs One UI 4.1 based on Android 12, and comes in three memory configurations: 6G/128GB, 8GB/128GB, and 8GB/256GB. The one we got is the base model.

Other Samsung Galaxy M53 highlights include a microSD card slot for storage expansion, NFC (region dependent), 5G connectivity, USB-C, and a 5,000mAh battery with 25W charging. However, the smartphone does not come with an adapter in some regions, so you will have to shell out extra money to buy one if you don’t already have one.
