Samsung Galaxy Buds 2 reviews | Lightweight, compact, good value for money

Samsung has outdone itself with the Galaxy Buds 2. From price to features, this is a versatile and comfortable pair of wireless earbuds that’s affordable and smart. They sound fantastic, they work well, and they have features that I loved.

First, and most importantly, let’s talk about sound. The Galaxy Buds 2 are clear, they deliver rich bass, with balanced mids and highs.

When trying out the headphones with music, one of the best examples of how well they performed was Lorde’s “Solar Power”. The song begins quietly, with just a bit of bass, and then Lorde’s vocals rise above during the bridge, then it kicks into full gear after 3 minutes. All the while, the bass is increasing, and these affordable headphones hit every note perfectly.

Best of all, the Buds 2 are incredibly comfortable, lightweight, and stay put without having to adjust them, even during a two-hour movie.

The design of the Buds 2 has been significantly improved over older versions of the Buds family. The Buds 2 are closer to the Galaxy Buds Pro, rather than the original Galaxy Buds, which were bulkier, and the Buds 2 have very similar specs and features to the Buds Pro.

The Buds 2 also have two-way dynamic speakers with three microphones, but they only weigh 5 grams each and have comfortable silicone tips to fit your ears. The case remains the same as the Buds Pro, which is the perfect size to fit in a pocket, and overall, while I generally prefer the Buds Pro for 360 Audio and a few other features, I love that the Buds 2 are smaller and lighter.

The active noise cancellation on the Galaxy Buds 2 is obviously one of the great features of the headphones, and they offer up to 98% noise reduction.

I’ve used the Buds 2 on flights, outdoors, at home, and they work great to help you focus on music, calls, or whatever else you’re working on.

And on top of everything else the Buds 2 are IPX2 water resistant which means they can withstand small amounts of water in certain conditions but we’re really talking about droplets so you need to be a little more careful.

Finally, the headphones have a few key features that I liked.

Touch controls can be adjusted, so you can toggle commands such as tap or double tap on and off, and you can choose what tap and hold does, either enable voice commands, change noise controls, or launch Spotify. You can also use SmartThings to find your headphones if they get lost.

And Galaxy Auto Switch means you can switch between Galaxy devices while using the Buds 2, and the headphones will switch audio with you, from your phone to your tablet, for example, so you don’t have to switch manually of device.

Battery life with the Buds 2 is also excellent. You’ll get up to 20 hours including charging with the case on, and up to 5 hours in a single session with ANC on. Disabling ANC will provide longer battery life, up to around 29 hours of use in total.

Wired fast charging only takes 10 minutes to get 150 minutes of playtime, and they’ll fully charge in about 1 hour.

The Galaxy Buds 2 perform very well, they have good battery life even compared to more expensive headphones, and the ANC provides a great experience in noisy spaces. For Android users, and especially Samsung Galaxy owners, these are the ideal headphones for everyday use, and especially in these days of Zoom calls and remote work, a good pair of headphones goes a long way. difference.
