In addition to playing Clemon Murn in next week’s HBO Max series PeacemakerThe 47-year-old has also landed a coveted role in the Marvel Cinematic Universe Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, with Gunn revealing that Iwuji had been cast for a role that many big names in Hollywood were interested in.
Iwuji has worked solidly for nearly two decades, but his association with Gunn has earned him the two most prominent roles of his career to date. With that in mind, it’s no surprise that he got nothing but the highest praise for The suicide squadscreenwriter and director of in an interview with Dweeb movie, and these feelings were instantly reciprocal.
Many rumors have circulated about the mysterious character of Iwuji in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, but even with the Cosmic Trio in production, we won’t have an answer for a while. Sure, Peacemaker is a more than acceptable substitute in the meantime, which will give audiences a taste of the rising star’s talents.
