Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy Wins Canadian Game of the Year
Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy was one of the big winners at the recent Canadian Game Awards. Eidos Montreal’s game won the coveted Game of the Year award. Having won this award, the game has become a representation of the best the Canadian gaming industry has to offer.
“And finally the moment you’ve all been waiting for,” CGA wrote on social networks. “The winner of Game of the Year at the 2022 Canadian Game Awards is Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy.
That’s not the only award Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy have managed to win. The game also won Best Console Game and Best Storytelling. The gaming community praised the game last year. Critics praised the title for its incredible storyline and in-game characters.
Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy were placed against Boyfriend Dungeon, Echo Generation, FIFA 2022 and Far Cry 6. Fans of the Canadian gaming industry had the opportunity to vote for their favorite Canadian title. However, despite winning Game of the Year, the winner of that award was Super Animal Royale.
The Canadian Game Awards are an annual event in the world of video games. It features various interactive experiences that players can play from the “third largest video game developer in the world.
“This awards celebration celebrated Canada’s place on the world stage as a leader in interactive entertainment,said the Canadian Game Awards organization on its website. Past Game of the Year titles went to Cadence of Hyrule: Crypt of the Necrodancer and Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla.
It’s also worth noting that Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy won Game of the Year despite having a rocky start to the market. Senior Creative Director Jean-Francois Dugas told the gaming community that he had “no regrets” with the way things have been going.
“We did everything we could but that’s the reality of the market,” he mentioned. “Even if we say that all Guardians of the Galaxy are known, it is still a new IP in the video game market.”
