Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 Villain
Although there is no official confirmation, the arrows indicate that the big bad is Chukwudi Iwuji playing the role of the High Evolutionary. Some fairly recent set photos show various half-human/half-animal characters, as well as graffiti that resembles the High Evolutionary from the comic books.
Another Kirby/Lee creation, the High Evolutionary was introduced in Mighty Thor #134 in 1966. He’s a more cosmic, armored version of Dr. Moreau, dedicated to his radical experiments that force evolution on others. He also has ties to Adam Warlock and considering how the Sovereign is supposed to be perfected through evolution, it wouldn’t be surprising to find out that the High Evolutionary had a role in their society.
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 story
Unfortunately, there’s not much to say about the concrete details of the overall plot of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. Of course, that would require Star-Lord and his team to attempt to reconnect with the Gamora variant and win it back again. That’s the only thing you can bet on as there won’t be any special cliffhangers heading towards the crew returning in another episode.
This will be the Guardians’ last hurrah. At least it will be THIS embodiment of the Guardians’ last hurrah. James Gunn has suggested that there could very well be more Guardians of the Galaxy stories, but that won’t be with this list. Star-Lord, Gamora, Rocket and the others will get their narrative conclusion in this movie. Even Dave Bautista has publicly stated that this will be the last we see of him as Drax as he approaches his 50s and his character is constantly shirtless. “I expect everything to start sagging any second now,” Bautista joked.
