In 2019, Mars launched for the first time a vegan version of its classic Galaxy chocolate in three flavors: smooth orange, caramel and sea salt and caramelized hazelnut.
He then added Galaxy Vegan Smooth Mint and Galaxy Vegan Crumble Cookie to the lineup.
Galaxy’s vegan chocolate dairy has been replaced with hazelnut paste and rice syrup. The products are certified by the Vegan Society. The packaging is also eco-friendly with the bars wrapped in recyclable foil and housed in a recyclable cardboard sleeve.
Kerry Cavanaugh is the Marketing Director of Mars Wrigley UK. Upon first launching in 2020, she said, “We’re thrilled to bring these delicious treats to the Galaxy range using a vegan recipe that doesn’t compromise on the brand’s smooth and creamy characteristics.”
“Wherever you look you can’t avoid the vegan buzz in the UK. Even though vegan treats are currently worth just £10million in a £4billion chocolate market, we believe that by introducing Galaxy, one of the UK’s best-known brands, there is a huge opportunity for the category to grow.
The Vegan Society’s Brand Marketing Manager, Abigail Stevens, added, “We are proud to register Galaxy’s first-ever non-dairy milk chocolate bars with our vegan brand. The brand has demonstrated that dairy products are not necessary to make great chocolate and that people can still enjoy their favorite foods without using animals.
