Reports have now surfaced online claiming the company failed to keep its end of the bargain and owed more than $110,000 in outstanding payments to participants.
Mamoon “TeaTime” Sabri, a professional CS:GO commentator, interviewer and former coach, took to Twitter to highlight the issue. He informed that the company owes over $110,000 to Pakistani esports players.
The delays started with the PUBG tournament which ended on January 23. GXR pledged to pay the price by April 13, 10 days before the standard payment time, but failed to do so.
Valued at $1.5 billion, the organization previously announced a partnership with entrepreneur Fakhr-e-Alam, with him taking a $40 million stake in the venture. GXR is now set to host the Supreme Galactic League in August.
Galaxy Racer’s Response
In a statement made exclusively to ProPakistani, Galaxy Racer said that “We are aware of claims made by some people on social media and wanted to clarify that these claims are untrue. It is important to note that standard prize pool payouts may take as little as 90 days and up to 180 days by global standards.As a responsible global company, we cannot take any action that is inconsistent with local regulations and laws.We are a Foreign Direct Investment Entity approved by the authority of the special technological zone and we work in compliance with government compliances.
“We are in constant contact with all of our players and winners. All of the winners have been extremely cooperative and while we recognize it can be frustrating at times, we appreciate that they have been very patient and are aware that they will receive their winning prize pool. Please note that we will always comply with local regulations and laws. We have clear rules that all players agreed to before the tournament started,” the statement added.
“Please bring to our attention if any player or team, who has posted material claiming through their official or verified social media account or emailed, that Galaxy Racer has violated any law or regulation or committed violations and we would be happy to address the issue directly. We are committed to Pakistan’s Esports ecosystem and look forward to major tournaments and events later this year,” the company added.

We will continue working to improve the whole Esports ecosystem in Pakistan and will host more major tournaments in the coming days. We also hope that once the government’s initial compliance issues are addressed, things will be dealt with much more quickly in the future.
