Last week, we reported an issue with the Galaxy Wearable app affecting Galaxy Watch 4 owners, which saw the app crash permanently. Beyond this smartwatch, however, the same crashing issue plagues Samsung’s headphones, with a message saying “Galaxy Buds manager keeps stopping” or “not responding”.
If you have one of Samsung’s latest earbuds – the Galaxy Buds Pro, Galaxy Buds 2, or Galaxy Buds Live, you might encounter this “keeps stopping” or “not responding” message. We’ve seen the non-stop crashing issue on a Galaxy Z Fold 3 that both Galaxy Buds Pro and Galaxy Buds 2 are paired to, and it looks like we’re not alone.
Over the past week, there have been several Reddit threads and posts about this issue. In each case, the app used to facilitate the connection between your phone and headphones crashes almost continuously. The problem usually seems to occur randomly, but frequently and mostly on Samsung devices.
Those affected say that uninstalling the app and reinstalling it seems to help. In a response, a Samsung moderator said this was the correct course of action, while granting the “Nearby devices” permission. For Galaxy Buds Pro and Buds Live, you will need version 4.1.22051251.
Of course, Samsung’s Galaxy Watch 4 plugin had the exact same problem in the same time frame, which implies that the problem is directly related. Samsung has since released plugin updates for the Galaxy Watch 4 and a few other smartwatches, so it’s reasonable to expect the same for Samsung’s headphones.
