Android’s answer to the Apple Watch SE

The Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 runs Wear OS 3 and offers several fitness and health tracking features. The brand new Galaxy Watch 5 also comes with a temperature sensor which claims to measure skin temperature and alert the user to signs of fever. However, the feature isn’t very useful and is mostly a gimmick. Samsung also mentioned during the launch that the sensor will improve the overall performance of the smartwatch and that the company is working with developers to find more particulate use for the technology. So currently the temperature sensor is not as useful as expected.

As mentioned above, the Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 comes with OS 3 out of the box. The Wear OS 3 runs smoothly on the wearable and it also comes with new editions. For example, the Google Assistant is now available on the smartwatch and works smoothly. Samsung has also improved its sleep tracking software and now uses colored animals to represent different sleep patterns. You will also be given a designated sleeping animal and the Health app will then offer you a four week course. The course teaches you the importance of good sleep and how you can improve your sleep habits. With all these features integrated, the Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 provides a smooth user experience.

The Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 works with the Samsung Health app, which is nothing new for Galaxy smartwatch users. The app offers a neat, clean and simple user interface. It has a daily activity tracker that keeps track of your steps, active time, and calories burned. Like its predecessor, the Galaxy Watch 5 also comes with an array of sensors that include heart rate, blood pressure, ECG, body composition, stress tracking, SpO2, and snore detection. The wearable is designed to automatically track multiple workouts and offer a fairly accurate reading.

The smartwatch also provided decent data when we measured heart rate, blood pressure, and oxygen levels. The company has also included its famous BioActive sensor in the smartwatch. The sensor monitors your overall health by measuring your weight, skeletal muscle, and BMI. Same as its predecessor, the feature works great this time too.

Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 comes with GPS tracking functionality. But we’re not really impressed with it as he needs to learn more in that department from Garmin.

Overall, the Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 delivers smooth performance that will appeal to many.
