Fisher has become a leader in building successful brands while creating a safe and inclusive space to empower women in leadership roles. His leadership and expertise in technology consumer products and e-commerce has helped clients achieve over $2 billion in sales.
“We are thrilled to welcome Akemi as CEO of Galaxy Racer North America as we complete our expansion in the region,” said Paul Roy, Founder and CEO of Galaxy Racer. “We believe the combination of Akemi’s impressive background in technology and e-commerce, along with her passion for supporting and empowering women, will be imperative as we continue to grow in as a global powerhouse in esports, we look forward to working closely with Akemi and watching her develop our new North American team.
Fisher’s first duties as Galaxy Racer’s new North American CEO will focus on building a new team for the North American region. She will do this by establishing greater representation for the organization’s newest initiative, HER Galaxy, a grassroots initiative aimed at creating more inclusive ecosystems for female gamers.
Fisher seeks to use HER Galaxy to provide more resources for women in esports and create more sponsorship and tournament opportunities to help grow the community and establish a more cohesive path to becoming a pro.
In addition to moving HER Galaxy forward, Fisher plans to focus on helping Galaxy Racer’s presence in North America continue to grow through the acquisition of content creators and other teams in the future.
“Galaxy Racer is an undisputed global leader in esports, and their commitment to creating equal opportunity for gamers and encouraging women in esports is in direct alignment with my personal goal of helping women create successful brands,” Fisher said. “Now it’s an honor for me to join Galaxy Racer in the mission to reduce gender inequality in esports.”
With a background focused on social media influencer marketing, public relations and business administration, Fisher will look to use his accumulated knowledge to help Galaxy Racer grow in North America.
Galaxy Racer was established in 2019 and is home to a competitive esports team known as Nigma Galaxy. Under this name, the organization has a roster of 12 different esports teams and is notably home to the former Team Liquid Dota 2 lineup that won The International 2017.
